WHO WE ARE

The team are passionate about providing safe spaces and opportunities to local children and young people. We love to see them enjoying themselves, supporting them to develop their skills and raise their aspirations. Our services are constantly evolving to respond to what the youth tell us they need and want.
Our approach is one of partnerships: Most importantly with the young people themselves. Also working with other organisations, families, guardians and professionals. We work with and for our community, involving young people in choices that matter. Our aims are:
• To ensure young people have a voice, which is heard, validated and acted upon.
• To raise aspirations and improve skills
• To embrace and support diversity and inclusion
• To continually review, respond and improve our offer

The WCC Youth Service aims to support all young people who need or want it, wherever in the parish the live or are educated.
Our programme uses the most appropriate facilities, venues and resources available to us. With a varied offer across the parish which is open to all, which has been proven to successfully reduce divisions across the piece and the territorialism that can lead to difficulties. Encouraging interaction, reducing community tensions. Building strong connections is at the heart of our work.

Meet the team.  We strive to ensure that each of our projects consitently have the same staff each week to enable children and young people to develop trusted relationships with safe and responsible adults. Staff each have different skill sets and areas of interest to compliment their sessions. All Youth Workers and Support Workers hold Enhanced DBS certificates and have completed regular Safeguarding and First Aid training.
