The Chairs Awards for 2024 took place on Friday 12th July, kindly hosted by the Blue Light Hub.
Welcomed by Station Commander Danny Graham, the evening included awards for environmental impact, educational group, partnerships and more, with the ‘Spirit of Woughton’ award, decided by public vote, bringing the awards to a close.

With the winners receiving their trophies from Deputy Mayor Cllr James Lancaster and newly elected MP Emily Darlington and enjoying a buffet provided by Macintyre Catering, the evening showed the impact that everyone can have on their community.

Cllr Sue Smith, Chair of Woughton Community Council said:
‘From litter picking to tree planting, providing boxing sessions to organising social activities, people from across parish make a difference every day. These awards celebrate all that is great about the parish – the people, the community and the wonderful area that Woughton is. With the parish noting 50 years since the first ‘new city’ residents arrived, these awards are a great way of kicking of these ‘Woughton is 50’ celebrations’.

Cllr Donna Fuller, Leader of Woughton Community Council added:
‘There are so many people doing so many great things in Woughton and these awards recognise the impact that residents and groups have on the parish. It was fabulous to see so many examples celebrated this evening, especially at the Blue Light Hub which was noted as a perfect recipient of the ‘partnership’ award for the work the emergency services have done there’.

The photos show awards winners and presenters. Huge thanks go to all at the Blue Light Hub, Macintyre for the excellent catering, Deputy Mayor Lancaster, Emily Darlington MP, councillors, officers and others who made sure that the evening was a success.
