Woughton Winter Ball 2011
The Parkside House Hotel, Woughton on the Green hosted the third Woughton Community Council Winter Ball on Friday 25th November. The event was attended by over 125 guests including representation from many estates and our partner organisations with all money raised being donated to the Council nominated charities for the year – Willen Hospice and AgeUK.
The Chairs Awards were definitely the highlight of the evening with the formal recognition of the hard work and dedication of community members within the area. Cllr Sue Smith, Cllr Donna Coventry and Cllr Janet Richardson presented awards to Pat Gibson and Michael Brett for giving up their time to volunteer, Alan Grainger for his work with the MK Academy Amateur Boxing Club, Laura Clarke for Partnership working on Coffee Hall, June Harrison for being a good neighbour, Ken Neil and Huw Smith for the development of a honey bee project and Barry Winter for his support at the Hotel.
Local band Calibre, provided the musical entertainment as guests danced the night away following a superb three course dinner and the award ceremony whilst photographers from Just Shoot Me captured the event in full technicolor. A huge thank you must also go to Starlighte Limousines and the staff at the Parkside House Hotel who provided such an amazing venue and invaluable support both before and during the evening.
