Birdhouse workshop (Banging good fun!)

On a Saturday morning at the beginning of November many residents approached St Marys church on Woughton on the Green with hammer in hand. No these residents were not intent on doing damage but to provide tools for making a wooden bird house each. The residents ranged from young to retired all ready to have a go at making a bird house.

Residents paired up as they occupied workbenches and spaces on the floor as they banged their boxes, the church kindly bought round teas and coffees for the thirsty workers. A total of 32 boxes were put together and will provide accommodation for blue tits and similar small birds. All boxes made were taken home to be proudly hung in the garden or to be given as a surprised gift to a grandparent.
