BUSY BEES CELEBRATE THEIR FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Busy Bees Lunch Club had a very successful first birthday celebration on Tuesday 3rd February. The Mayor, Jan Lloyd and the Ambassador for Woughton Parish Council, Cllr Janet Richardson, were there. Councillor Steve Coventry also joined in the celebrations. Everyone enjoyed an excellent roast dinner with birthday cake for dessert. Chef Bob entertained everyone after lunch with a musical medley. The idea for the lunch club originated from 3 Coffee Hall residents who approached Linda Henderson (Woughton Parish Community worker) about the possibility of organising a lunch club facility on Coffee Hall.

The three original volunteers were encouraged by Age Concern to go on a good hygiene course to enable them to volunteer in the kitchen when the lunch club opened. Pat Gibson, Kath Hyland and Gladys Harrison (all over 70 years old). All completed the course and have pass certificates.
