Councillor Geoff Long

Chair for the Finance and Resources Committee

The Committee meets on a bi-monthly basis, although meeting dates are varied to meet particular demands and timescales. All the meetings are open to the public. The meetings are held in the Parish offices in Farthing Grove. For the current year the Chair is Cllr Geoff Long and his deputy is Cllr Brian Rabe.

The primary responsibilities of the Finance and Resources Committee are to :

Overview the Council's financial regulations and procedures, and ensure these abide by statutory requirements and Best Practice guidance.
Co-ordinate the budget process and consultations
Monitor spending against the Council's agreed budgets look for opportunities to increase income and reduce costs
Overview building, equipment and general administration related matters

The Committee has no powers as such, but is expected to report and recommend to the Council on matters within its general ambit, as above
