WOUGHTON COMMUNITY COUNCIL CARNIVAL - JUNE 2011
Woughton Community Carnival took place on Saturday 25th June; this year’s theme was the Movies.
The procession which involved various local community organisations and their floats, wound through the Woughton area from 12noon starting from Langland School in Netherfield and taking in Beanhill and Coffee Hall and finishing in Leadenhall at the Woughton Campus.
Woughton Community Council’s Ambassador Cllr Janet Richardson and the local MP Iain Stewart were in attendance presenting certificates to each group who took part in the procession.

The new Milton Keynes Radio Station MKFM107 compered each performance and was there the whole day covering the carnival and taking photographs which can be seen on their website http://www.mkfm.com/
There was a range of stalls run by mainly local community groups along with tombola’s, information stands, competitions, face painting, inflatable’s and refreshment vans, including stocks where the local MP Iain Stewart and various Councillors got a good soaking.
Displays throughout the day took place with a BMX assault course and boxing.
The Carnival Court Hannah, Shannon and Nicola raised funds through a raffle for Willen Hospice and Age UK on the day.

year’s carnival had a good attendance and was up on last year, the nice weather helped as well and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun, I would like to thank all the community organisations
that took part in the procession, had a stall and took part in the arena events, and the hard work of Staff and Councillors who made the Carnival the great success that it was”
